 We are committed to providing you with financial products and services that help you reach your financial goals.  We know that you trust us to safeguard the personal information you provide us.  We use your personal information in a number of ways to conduct business with you; at the same time, we are committed to protecting the personal information of our current and former members.  This Privacy Notice will explain how we use, share, and safeguard your personal information.  

What Information Do You Collect About Me?

The information that we collect depends on the particular transaction, service, or relationship that you have with us, but generally we collect information such as:

  • Your name, address, phone numbers, and e-mail addresses;
  • Driver’s license number, social security number, date of birth;
  • Household income, account numbers, payment history, account balances;
  • Electronic “cookies” used to establish homebanking sessions.

Where Do You Get My Information?

We get your information directly from you as well as from third parties – sources such as your membership application and loan or credit card applications, current or past employers (to verify information contained on your applications), and from your credit report that we obtain from one or more credit bureaus.  

To Whom Do You Disclose My Information, and Why?

We may share your information in the following circumstances:

Processing/Administrative Purposes:

  • We disclose your information within the credit Union and with others in order to process your transactions and otherwise service your account: e.g., to consumer reporting agencies, check printers, government agencies, credit card processors, etc.
  • We will disclose your information when we report your payment history and other account information to the credit bureaus;

Marketing Purposes:

  • We may share your information with trusted third party financial companies who help us offer various financial products and services to you.  We have in place what we call, “Joint Marketing Agreements” with these companies.  These companies are used to offer you loan-related products such as mortgage service companies, credit insurance, extended warranties or property insurance if you take a loan with us; or to offer you financial services such as financial planning and investment services, or credit counseling.  We may also use outside companies for real estate appraisals and for processing our outgoing mail.  These companies have signed contracts that promise us(and you!) that they will use your information only in connection with the purpose for which the information was provided to them, and will not sell your information to anyone else or misuse it in any way.
  • We DO NOT SHARE or SELL your information to any third parties who wish to market their own products to you outside of the companies with whom we have Joint Marketing Agreements.  For example, we will never sell your information to a telemarketer who sells vacation packages, magazines, or sweepstake contests.  

Other Miscellaneous Reasons:

  • We will disclose your information with your consent or at your direction.
  • We may disclose your information to law enforcement agencies, our regulators, or under a court order if circumstances require us to do so.

What if I discontinue my membership with the Credit Union?

We do not share information of former members.

Ho Do You Safeguard My Information?

Besides restricting access to your information only to persons on a “need to know basis, “ we also maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to protect your information from theft and misuse.  This may include locked cabinets and security systems for our facilities; passwords and firewalls for our websites; and having our employees as for identification before processing your requests.

Do your Collect Information on My Children?

Yes. However, we respect the privacy of children and do not collect any more information that is necessary to enable them to participate in the activities we offer at our website.  We do not allow other organizations to collect personal information from children and no not have any agreements with outside organizations to collect information at our site.

  • E-mail Address
  • Account Numbers
  • Passwords
  • Security Questions

The information that we collect from children is used:

  • To fulfill a requested transaction;
  • To notify club members about upcoming special events;
  • To respond to children’s requests to participate in particular activities, such as subscribing to our on-line newsletter or attending scheduled events; and
  • To access homebanking or e-statement services.

We Will obtain parental consent before collecting information on your children, and you can review the information we have collected from your child online; prevent the further use or maintenance of that information, or direct the deletion of that information by notifying us:

Identity Theft – Protect Yourself!

Identity Theft is more than just unauthorized use of your credit cards.  Sophisticated identity thieves run scams to obtain your social security and account numbers, and other personal information, and then open accounts and take loans in your name.  When they don’t repay those loans, your credit score and reputation can be damaged.  We will never e-mail or telephone you requesting your personal account information, social security number, passwords, or other sensitive information.  You can protect yourself against fraud and Identity Theft by never providing your personal or account information in response to any unsolicited e-mails or phone calls.  You can learn more about Identity Theft and ways to protect yourself by visiting http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/microsites/idtheft// .  We will occasionally ask for your social security number and other personal information if you apply for an account or loan with us.  We use your SSN only for legitimate business purposes such as to pull your credit report and to verity your identity.  Once we have your social security number, we safeguard it and make it available only to those credit union employees who need it to do their jobs.  If you ever have any questions about whey we are asking you for certain information, please do not hesitate to ask us.
